I am so happy you have found my photography blog! This blog is dedicated to my passion for photography and what I have been up to lately. I am not going to lie to you, 3 month old babies are tough to photograph. It is a hit or miss on whether or not they are going to smile for the camera, it’s just an age thing. This little girl was awesome! She was so happy and so smiley and was just great to photograph. Oh, and soooo cute!! This session went really well and was very happy with the images, I couldn’t have asked for a better 3 month old model! Here are a few of my favorites from the session…
I am way behind on bloggin my sessions since I had the contest up. I really didn’t think it would be fair to blog about a session that was being voted on, but do think it is fair to blog about the winner since she has not been featured yet. Isn’t she just the cutest thing!! I LOVE that winning image too, one of my favorites from this session. Such a fun age, I can’t wait to see her and her cute brother back in a few months!

After 519 votes the winner is #11!!!
She brought in 118 votes, way to go! Second place went to #1 with 109 votes and third place was #7 with 73 votes. There were a total of 215 votes in the top half of the poll (1-6) and 304 votes in the bottom half (7-13).

It is so hard to connect with my little brother with our busy schedules. I have been trying to get together with him to photograph his daughter’s (ages 4 and 2) for some time now. Well, I figured while I was down at my parent’s house for the 4th of July it was now or never. I didn’t quite feel like lugging along my studio equipment, my boys, and three bicycles, so we did some outdoor images at the Gustavus Adolphus Arboretum.
Needless to say, the night before was our high schools All School Reunion, so we were not feeling too hot in the morning. I woke up later than intended and it was a scramble to get out the door in order to beat the light. My brother didn’t quite “get it”, but dragged himself off the couch (we were staying at our parents house) to dress the girls and head on out. I really wanted to start the photo session at 8:00, but 9:00 was going to have to do. Good thing we didn’t start later than we did, towards the end the sun was getting just too high in the sky and we were all starting to sweat.
The girls were great and are just so beautiful to photograph. They have the most amazing blue eyes and blonde hair. My brother has two amazing little girls! It was so hard to choose what to show on here, but I had to narrow it down a little!!
We are a little hot and sweaty at the end - ready to go home - but they wanted one more with daddy.

Beautiful little girls! I love their big, blue eyes - and there’s no mistaking they’re related to you, especially the younger one! The brother’s not so bad to look at either

SMSgt USAF Retired - I was your neighbor Lowry AFB military housing unit on Roslyn Street from 1970 to 1974. I was an Instructor in the Air Force Photo School at Lowry AFB. It was so refreshing to see such good quality photographs as those Nancy Woods sent me to see that you created. Your lighting, composition, use of Depth of field reminded me of some of the things we tried to teach. You are not only wwworthy of the title Photographer but you are an Artist. Best wishes to you on your continued success.

This little boy was soooo cute! He has the most beautiful blue eyes and is just so darn photogenic. I loved how this session turned out, I loved every single image. He just had so much personality and spunk that is what I love about 2 year olds. Not one photo is ever the same with their emotions constantly changing; I love documenting these expressions for mom and dad. His baby sister is equally as cute. She had her own special session though; images of that sweetie will be online in another week or two. Great kids to photograph and wonderful parents to work with, what more can a photographer ask for!

I have been so busy! I had three sessions this weekend and still managed to throw together a birthday party for my 4 year old and have a mini photo shoot for my oldest son’s birthday party invitations. I finally was able to sleep Wednesday night!
Monday was my baby’s 4th birthday. I really do wish they would stop growing up so fast. He is such a sweet happy boy and has been that way since he was born. He has also recently gone through a HUGE growth spurt! To my surprise he is starting to catch up to his older brother! He is always full of surprises. :o)
We had his birthday party with family over at my sister’s house. It is so nice since that they live out in the boon-docks, the kids can run around outside and play without me worrying they are going to get hit by a car.
He had a Spiderman cake from Cold Stone Creamery - YUM!! I think I liked it more than the kids did, LOL. Can you tell he is excited!
Then we opened presents. This is his favorite present so far and I am so glad I saw it! This is a new Leap Frog product called Tag and it is AMAZING! I think the parents were playing with it as much as the kids while at the party. I highly recommend buying one.
Here is a picture of the cousins. I can’t believe the older boys are going into 1st grade this next year and will both be turning 7 at the end of the summer!! This image of my little guy just cracks me up. The look on his face is hilarious. Gotta love my nephews mohawk too, red is his color.
Here are a few more I took this weekend. I am designing my other son’s birthday party invitation and we decided to have some fun. These particular images have nothing to do with the invitation, and of course my little guy had to have “cool” pictures taken like his big brother. I thought they turned out pretty cute. I will post the invitation when I finally have it done - think Pokemon - my son’s favorite thing right now.

I talked my oldest son into playing baseball for the first time this year. I knew he would have fun, but he was hesitant because he said he couldn’t hit home runs. Well, no one hits home runs at 6 years old, so I told him it was not going to be an issue. He was still really nervous on the way to his first practice and didn’t really want to go. I do have to say he was a completely different child in the car ride home after practice that day! When he walked up to where his team was gathered quite a few boys new him from school and were excited to see him (made him feel pretty good), and he soon found out that everyone was just like him (not very good, LOL). He was so excited after that day and said he loved playing baseball. I am glad I got him to try it and he really had a lot of fun this season. On to soccer season now!
